About

Dedicated to Restoring Function and Quality of Life

Dr. Babak Azad is a fellowship-trained urologist specializing in genitourinary reconstructive surgery, serving patients across the Gulf South from New Orleans and Metairie, Louisiana.

His practice focuses on the conditions many urologists refer out: complex and multiple urethral strictures, failed prior repairs, urethral disruptions, bladder neck contractures, and ureteral strictures requiring advanced reconstruction such as Boari flap. He offers the full range of options — from minimally invasive treatments like the Optilume drug-coated balloon to complex open and single-port robotic reconstruction.

Dr. Azad also maintains a dedicated men's health practice, including Peyronie's disease treatment with Xiaflex injections and surgical correction, inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP), artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) for male incontinence, and testosterone therapy. He leads clinical research at Tulane on male infertility and low testosterone.

His philosophy is straightforward: every patient deserves a clear explanation of all their options — not just the ones a given surgeon happens to perform — and a repair done right the first time.
